Common questions about pest control, lawn care, plant health care, mosquito and tick treatments, nuisance wildlife removal, and our other services in Harrisburg and Central Pennsylvania. If you don't see your question here, call or text 717-379-3248.
Yes. We're a locally owned, family-run business based in Central Pennsylvania. The same person who answers the phone walks your property and applies the treatment. No corporate dispatcher, no scripted call center, no out-of-state ownership.
We've been operating in Central Pennsylvania since 2022. The owner has 10+ years of beekeeping in the region (through our sister business, The Alleman Apiary) and is a Pennsylvania-licensed pesticide applicator for 20+ years and Nuisance Wildlife Control Operator since 2025.
Yes. We're a licensed Pennsylvania pesticide applicator (with general, agricultural, and aquatic categories) and a Pennsylvania-certified Nuisance Wildlife Control Operator (NWCO). We carry full liability insurance for residential, commercial, and agricultural work.
National chains run on volume — scripted treatment programs, technicians on tight time-per-stop schedules, and call-center sales. The technician at your house may have done 30 properties that day. We slow down. The same person walks your property, identifies what's going on, and treats accordingly. We adjust products and timing based on your specific property and what local weather is doing each season. We also offer real organic and pollinator-friendly options that most chains don't.
No. Every estimate is free with no obligation. Most of our services are billed per visit, so you can cancel or skip any time. We don't run on the long-term contract model that national chains use.
Pricing varies by service, property size, and what specifically needs to be done. We give free estimates over the phone or on-site. No high-pressure sales calls and no surprises. Call or text 717-379-3248 with what you're dealing with and we'll walk through it.
No. We bill after services are completed. We accept cash, check, and Venmo.
Yes, when applied correctly. We use EPA-registered products applied by a Pennsylvania-licensed applicator, and we'll always tell you the re-entry interval — how long to stay off treated areas after application. For sensitive situations we offer reduced-risk and organic-compatible product options. Just ask.
Yes. Our fully organic lawn care program is one of the only real organic-only lawn programs available in Central PA — using OMRI-listed natural fertilizers, corn gluten meal as a natural pre-emergent, and biology-focused soil work. We also offer reduced-risk and organic-compatible options across plant health care, mosquito and tick control, and agricultural work. See our Lawn Care page for full details on the organic program.
We work hard to make sure they don't. We're working beekeepers ourselves through our sister business, The Alleman Apiary. We use soil drenches instead of foliar sprays where possible, time applications before or after bloom on flowering plants, choose products that target the specific pest rather than broad-spectrum kill-everything products, and avoid spraying anything that's actively flowering. If you keep your own bees or have a pollinator garden, tell us — we'll work around your hive locations.
Yes — but we don't exterminate them. Honey bees are protected pollinators, so we coordinate with our partner apiary, The Alleman Apiary, to remove and relocate them alive. See our Honey Bee Removal page or send a photo to 717-379-3248 — we identify honey bees vs yellow jackets vs hornets every day.
No, rodent control isn't part of our service mix. For mice and rats we recommend reaching out to a rodent specialist.
No. We focus on plant health care treatments — insect control, disease management, fertilization, soil work, and spotted lanternfly. For pruning, deadwood removal, structural work, or tree removal you'll need a certified arborist or tree service company. We can recommend one if you don't have a contact.
Yes. In addition to standard residential and commercial services, we provide Agricultural Pest Service including fly control for cattle, poultry mite and louse treatments, sheep and goat parasite control, and varroa mite management for honey bees. We also handle pond and aquatic management for farm ponds.
Yes. We're a Pennsylvania-licensed Nuisance Wildlife Control Operator (NWCO) and handle raccoons, groundhogs, squirrels, skunks, opossums, bats, and snakes. Trapping, removal, exclusion, and dead animal removal. See our Nuisance Wildlife page for full details.
For routine work (lawn care, plant health care, scheduled pest control), we book a few days to a week out. For emergencies — active stinging insect nests near doors or play areas, wildlife in living spaces, swarms during bee season — we prioritize 48-72 hour response when at all possible.
We serve Dauphin, Cumberland, Lebanon, and York Counties — including Harrisburg, Paxtang, Penbrook, Steelton, Highspire, Middletown, Hummelstown, Hershey, Palmyra, Annville, Cleona, Lebanon, Grantville, Linglestown, Colonial Park, Susquehanna Township, Lower Paxton, Camp Hill, Mechanicsburg, Lemoyne, New Cumberland, Wormleysburg, Enola, Marysville, Halifax, Millersburg, Elizabethtown, Mount Joy, Mount Wolf, Manchester, Dillsburg, Carlisle, Boiling Springs, and surrounding Central Pennsylvania communities. We also travel for agricultural and apiary work into surrounding counties.
Yes — and most clients do. Lawn care plus mosquito and tick control is one of our most common combinations. Pest control plus plant health care, or any combination across our services, all coordinate cleanly because the same person manages your property.
Call or text 717-379-3248, or email Lawnsplantspests@gmail.com. We try to respond same day.
