Lawns Plants & Pests LLC provides residential, commercial, and agricultural pest control throughout Harrisburg, Hershey, Camp Hill, Mechanicsburg, and the surrounding Dauphin and Cumberland County communities. We're a locally owned, family-run pest control company — not a national chain or call center. The person who answers the phone is the same licensed Pennsylvania pesticide applicator who treats your property. Free estimates. Call or text 717-379-3248.
National pest control companies route your call through a corporate dispatcher and send whichever technician happens to be closest. That's not how we work. We're based right here in Central PA, we know which pests show up where (and when), and we build treatment plans around your specific property — not a one-size-fits-all package. We're licensed, fully insured, and a Pennsylvania-certified Nuisance Wildlife Control Operator. We don't lock you into long-term contracts to get a quote, and you'll never get a high-pressure upsell call from a sales department.
Foundation and perimeter treatments that target ants, spiders, roaches, silverfish, centipedes, earwigs, millipedes, and other common Central PA household pests. Available as one-time service for a specific problem or as seasonal programs for ongoing prevention.
Yard barrier treatments that knock down mosquito and tick populations through the warm months. Important in Central PA where deer ticks carry Lyme disease and West Nile virus is a documented concern. Treatments timed to local breeding cycles. Learn more about our Mosquito and Tick Control programs.
Same-week response — often same-day — for active stinging insect nests near doors, decks, eaves, or play areas. We safely remove ground nests, eaves nests, and the basketball-sized bald-faced hornet nests that show up across the Harrisburg area every August. If anyone in the household has a sting allergy, call right away — we prioritize emergency response. For dedicated stinging insect content — yellow jackets, hornets, wasps, cicada killers, and how to tell them apart — see our Stinging Insects page.
Indoor and outdoor fly control for homes, restaurants, food service businesses, and farms. We treat the source — breeding sites, drains, dumpsters — not just the visible flies.
Quarterly or bi-monthly programs that prevent pest problems before they start. Treatments are timed to seasonal pest pressure: ants in spring, mosquitoes and stinging insects in summer, rodents and overwintering pests in fall. Most clients on a seasonal program never need an emergency call.
Central PA's humid summers and cold winters create a specific seasonal pattern of pests. Knowing the cycle is half of effective pest control.
Spring: Carpenter ants and pavement ants are the most common callouts. Stink bugs emerge from winter hiding spots. Spotted lanternfly nymphs hatch and start climbing trees.
Summer: Mosquitoes and ticks are at peak pressure. Yellow jackets and paper wasps build nests. Spotted lanternfly adults appear and concentrate on tree of heaven, grape vines, and ornamental trees.
Late Summer / Fall: Bald-faced hornets reach peak nest size — that's when you see the basketball-sized gray paper nests. Yellow jacket colonies become aggressive as food sources decline. Mice begin pushing indoors.
Winter: Rodents and overwintering pests (stink bugs, ladybugs, cluster flies) take refuge in attics and wall voids. We do exclusion work and interior treatments through the cold months.
We serve Dauphin, Cumberland, Lebanon, and York Counties — including Harrisburg, Paxtang, Penbrook, Steelton, Highspire, Middletown, Hummelstown, Hershey, Palmyra, Annville, Cleona, Lebanon, Grantville, Linglestown, Colonial Park, Susquehanna Township, Lower Paxton, Camp Hill, Mechanicsburg, Lemoyne, New Cumberland, Wormleysburg, Enola, Marysville, Halifax, Millersburg, Elizabethtown, Mount Joy, Mount Wolf, Manchester, Dillsburg, Carlisle, Boiling Springs, and surrounding Central Pennsylvania communities.
Pricing depends on the size of your property, the type of treatment, and whether you need a one-time service or a seasonal program. One-time treatments for a specific problem (a wasp nest, a single ant infestation) are generally less than ongoing programs. We give free estimates over the phone or on-site — no high-pressure sales calls and no contracts to sign just to get a price.
Yes, when used as directed. We use EPA-registered products applied by a Pennsylvania-licensed pesticide applicator. We'll always tell you the re-entry interval — how long to stay off treated areas after application. For sensitive situations we also offer reduced-risk and organic-compatible product options. Just ask.
"Exterminator" is just a job title — anyone can call themselves one. A Pennsylvania-licensed pesticide applicator has passed state certification exams, carries continuing education requirements, and is legally accountable for every product applied. We're licensed for general pest control, agricultural applications, aquatic treatments, and nuisance wildlife.
Both. If you have a one-off problem — a wasp nest or ants in the kitchen — we'll handle just that. If you'd rather not deal with pests at all, our seasonal programs prevent most issues before they start. No long-term contract required either way.
Yes. In addition to standard residential and commercial pest control, we provide agricultural pest services including fly control for cattle, poultry mite and louse treatments, sheep and goat parasite control, and varroa mite management for honey bees.
No, rodent control isn't part of our service mix. For mice and rats we recommend reaching out to a rodent specialist.
For active stinging insect nests near doors, decks, play areas, or anyone with allergies, we prioritize same-week and often same-day service. Call 717-379-3248 — tell us where the nest is and how close it is to people, and we'll move you up the schedule.
Yes — but we don't exterminate them. Honey bees are protected pollinators, so we coordinate with our partner apiary, The Alleman Apiary, to remove and relocate them alive. Learn more about our humane Honey Bee Removal services.
